“Educational” isn’t a word often used to describe weddings, but Ruth and Benn’s event at the Melbourne Museum was no ordinary affair. The couple and their guests escaped the heat of the day by wandering the cool exhibits of the museum after-hours.
Eager to see his bride and get the party started, a giddy Benn and his groomsmen turned up at the Sofitel before the ceremony. Benn greeted Ruth, then we snapped a few portrait shots around the museum—including at Ruth’s favourite exhibit, the dinosaurs.
With a lovely breeze moving the hot summer air, we wandered out to the shade of the beautiful Carlton Gardens. The ceremony took place in the intimate museum courtyard set amidst the vast grounds of the iconic building. We got the feeling of taking a walk back in time through Australian history during the cocktail hour in the exhibition gallery until we were jolted back to the present at the reception as the dance party continued late into the night.
