Even though everything didn’t go exactly according to plan at Jacqui and Jason’s Emu Bottom wedding, the couple wasn’t fazed. After being together since the age of 16, they’ve learned to laugh off life’s little complications and take everything in stride, side by side.
The culprit? A vintage mint green-and-white Volkswagen Kombi hired to bus around the wedding party, carefully chosen to match the couple’s wedding colours. Sadly, the van broke down after delivering the boys, leaving the ladies temporarily stranded. After the groomsmen tried to give the Kombi a push—and let us take a few photos of them working hard in their wedding finery—they arranged for Jason’s dad to pick up the bridal party in his Mercedes.
Jacqui and Jason’s close-knit group of friends—some of them dating back to primary school—kept the laughs coming throughout the day. It was easy to photograph the group who let me fit seamlessly into their fun and shenanigans—even if some of the laughs were at our expense!
