One aspect of my work, that I really enjoy is that I work with a broad range of medical practitioners and have become a popular choice in the medical industry. Rachael came to me because professional headshots for her work as an occupational therapist. It was a pleasure to work closely with Rachel to capture her lovely compassionate, friendly and thoughtful personality. I enjoy working with medical practitioners, like Rachel as she wanted to be portrayed as professional but also personable and approachable.
What do you do? Tell us a bit about what you do.
I am an occupational therapist and work with older clients in the community. My goal is to assist older adults to live more independently and to achieve their goals. This includes prescribing equipment, providing education to families, completing cognitive assessments and providing strategies to manage cognitive impairments in the home.
I attended a seminar as part of my school’s year 12 program where Michelle Newland, who is now part of the Summer Foundation, spoke to us about her brain injury. More specifically, she told us how her occupational therapist made such a profound impact on her life and her happiness. I went home and changed my university preferences from psychology to OT and have never looked back.
The best piece of advice I’ve received is to always be curious and to never stop learning. I now use this advice during all my client/patient interactions, as well as when wanting to up skill.
I chose to hire Lizzy as I liked the photos on the website. I had also never had my photo taken like this so I was reassured by others who had minimal experience and had hired Lizzy.
Tell us about your experience working with her. Were you happy with the results of your shoot?
It was a great experience. Lizzy gave great direction and made me feel really comfortable in front of the camera. I liked the variety of shots and the timeliness of receiving my pictures.
