I have the pleasure of working with people from all different industries and walks of life. I recently photographed Nicole who helps people secure visas to live, work and study in Australia. It was lovely to have the opportunity to capture Nicole’s bubbly, friendly & compassionate personality. Afterwards, we had a chat about what she does and her experience of a Lizzy C Photography portrait session.
What do you do? Tell us a bit about what you do.
I am a Registered Migration Agent, most people do not know what this is. In short I help people who would like to visit, study, work or live in Australia reach that goal.
Tell me about how you got into your field.
I started volunteering at the Refugee and Immigration Legal Centre (RILC) in a 2006 in the evenings while I worked my day job and really enjoyed it. I provided administrative support for lawyers and migration agents. It was there I learned the profession existed. In this industry in order to really help people, you must have a healthy mix of heart and brains, which keeps the job interesting. I returned to university to get qualification in Migration Law and have been working as a migration agent since 2009. Being a migration agent is both challenging and rewarding. I still love it.
What is the best piece of career advice you’ve received?
For career and or life. The only thing you can guarantee on is change.
Why did you choose to have professional profile photos taken and what will you use your portraits for?
After 10 years of working for others I have gone out on my own and need photos for my website.
Why did you choose to hire Lizzy C Photography?
The style of photography appealed to me. I wanted professional photos but will still being myself.
Tell us about your experience working with her. Were you happy with the results of your shoot?
Yes, I was very happy! It is very hard for most of us to look at photos of ourselves, however Lizzy provided great tips about what to wear, took charge and we had great conversations while she took the photos. The whole experience from booking, to meeting, photos and then release of the photos was very fats and efficient. I would recommend Lizzy to anyone wishing to get corporate photos taken.
