Lauren and Daniel were married on a warm day in the coastal town of Pointartlington. The couple was an absolute delight to work with — Lauren showed a great appreciation for her friends and family and everyone involved in making her day special, while Daniel was relaxed and playful throughout the day.
The ceremony was in the ballroom at the Ol’ Duke, a charming old hotel built in 1855. The building is on the town’s main street, with a beautiful view down to the harbor and across the Port Philip Bay to Melbourne.
After the vows, guests enjoyed drinks in the courtyard while I snuck away with the couple to take photos on the pier. We then hopped in the wedding car — a 1968 Chevy Camaro that Daniel fixed up himself — and headed up the road to St. Leonard’s, a quaint seaside town with quiet, secluded beaches and sailboats bobbing in the bay. The day cooled as we walked along the beach, and Daniel and Lauren stripped off their shoes and waded into the water to play in the shallows — wedding attire and all.
The reception was at the St Leonards yacht club, where guests enjoyed the sea breeze and sipped a special Pimm’s cocktail as the temperatures continued to drop. The venue looked breathtaking, decorated in a gorgeous rustic nautical theme. Lauren did much of the work herself, but it looked like it was done by a team of professionals.
We were so happy to be a part of Lauren and Daniel’s day, and even happier to receive this note from Lauren a few days later: “Lizzy has been AMAZING! Nothing has ever been too much trouble. She is professional, easy to communicate with and most of all, fun. She goes out of her way to ensure you are comfortable and at ease and made photos on our wedding day a breeze. Thanks for everything, Lizzy.”
