The couple first met when Pat saw Mandy running water for the local footy team in Kununurra. Pat went out of his way to introduce himself the next time he saw Mandy at the pub, and the rest, as they say, is history. The two eventually moved to Pat’s hometown of Gisborne, where they now live.
With Mandy’s family still in Kununarra, there were a lot of guests who travelled for the wedding. Mandy says her favourite moment during the wedding was having her father walk her down the aisle, and seeing Pat and all of their friends and family who had travelled so far to be a part of their special day.
Mandy and Pat chose Emu Bottom Homestead for its beautiful bush setting and the option for their guests to enjoy the evening inside, or on the lush grassy lawns. Mandy says it was perfect for a summer wedding.
When planning the wedding, Mandy drew inspiration from Hello May, Pinterest, and Cosmo Bride, and came up with a lovely rustic aesthetic. She also personalised the reception room with laminated drawings of her and Pat done by her grade one primary school students (so cute!).
On the day Mandy and Pat we very relaxed, and we loved photographing them. We were happy to hear from Mandy that the feeling was mutual:
“Lizzy was super relaxed and organised, which was particularly useful when we were taking all of the family shots. Photos were a breeze.”
